Poem 15

I wrote this for a good friend when she was upset

empty gaze
frowning face
sadly staring off in space
all of this...
just for a guy?
and of course,
i can't lie
Boys...
make your heart stop
bring a smile to your face
make your stomach drop
and your thoughts race
but...
never 
let a guy
control
your
soul
or lock up your smile
because friends..
are forever
and guys..
for a while
It will be alright
it will be fine
and for every battle
we'll be by your side

Art Room Sink

This is what happens when you stare at a sink for 10 minutes.

Sleek
Silver
And Shining
You are beautiful in your simplicity
And suprising in your complexity
Your arched back hangs
Over the waiting abyss
I watch in awe
For you do not tremble

Poem 13

Sometimes I wish
You would say what you mean
No speaking in Cyphers
Your words what they seem

Oh how you tend to
Add to my load
Instead of just talking
I'm forced to decode

I do try to Smile
But inside I'm screaming
Trying to find
Your secret meaning

Someday We'll talk plainly
And speak our minds
But until then I'm stuck
Reading between the lines

Flops,Socks ,and Toes

Sometimes poetry can be inspired my the most mundane objects....this can result in something amazing....or not:

My poor sock
Without a pair
I wonder if it even cares
Is it's mate in an affair?
Perhaps the pink-
She's missing too
Yes, she ran off with my blue
Hiding out in the laudry room
   So i wear..
Mismatched socks to school




Squat little creatures
Standing in rows
Stuck to my feet
Is the egnigma of toes

Poolside Party for One

I dance and I dance
For the world to see
I spin and I twirl
Being silly
Who cares if there all laughing at me?

My best friend hides
Her head in shame
Unhappy with my claim to fame
That dancing girl
A new nickname

Barefeet tap
At the poolside
And in this song
I'm glorified
And satisfied....

I didn't let summer slip away......
Instead I danced the night away!

Poem 9

Have you ever felt
Your just taking up space?
That no one's betting on you
In life's crazy race?
That you are odd
And the odds are against you?
That no one cares
But care to annoy you?
Don't worry
It's normal
There's no need to fret
It's called adolescence
And it's not over yet

Silence

It snuck up slowly
Tapped me on one shoulder
And creeped around the other
It came between us
A smothering blanket
And we sat unsuspecting
As silence filled the room

Yearbooks

Scribbled I heart yous
They say I'm swell
Not always sincere
But you can't really tell
They say HAVE A GREAT SUMMER
And I say the same
The only bummer
Is when they don't know my name

Bus Ride

Slick brown seats
Not Promising
No seat belts
As we're jolting
We open the window
Oh the outside does tease
In our yellow oven
We just pray for a breeze

Poem 5

Is it so haphazardly
We throw away our dreams?
Now empty souls
Were once bursting at the seems
When we clean out our lockers-
Do we clean out our hearts?
Washed away by summer
Each year a fresh start
I silently slip through the hallways
And for my notebook i grope
For I have secretly kept
A few of this years hopes

This isn't one of my favorites but is a solid end of the school year gloomy poem.

Conflict

Socitey's divison sign

Ever notice

How we take sides?

I tried my hardest to make this in to a hakiu but it just didn't want to be one.

Summer Kiss

I'm dancing with dusk
Cool grass swishing beneath me
Tasting the Summer
A warm breeze taps me on the shoulder
And I press ice to my lips


Normally I'm not a fan of poetry that doesn't rhyme but somehow this captures the feel of summer nights.

With malace I grab
The remaining dart
And angrly grab
The dollor store heart
Oh what of first loves?
They aren't ment to be
Middle School Boys

Will be the death of me

I sealed away my heart
Under lock and key
So not another soul
Could steal it away from me
I kept it far away
Tending its fresh scars
Yet when my heart saw you
It shook childishly at the bars
