Your pen is your sword, fight on. This morning I talked to Walt about his time as a Lieutenant in Viet Nam. His superiors hated him because he thought the war was insane and he told them so. He thought about deserting before they sent him there and he told them so. They hated him, but they sent him anyway. He did his job. He kept his men alive. He does not dwell on his time in the war nor brag about it. You have to tease details out of him. I went to college so I would not have to go to war. They were drafting us. I had a lottery number that gave me a spot in line to be drafted.
ReplyDeletePaul Simon has a song with St. Judy's comet in it. It is a lullaby. The tune sticks in your head like a burr. We live in a big place. I wonder if we are thoughts in God's mind....electrical impulses traveling along the nerve circuits in the mind of God. The word is, we are pleasant thoughts to Him if that is what we are....and conscious ones, deliberate ones, not random....dodging comets and meteors on our path around a tiny spark of light in the mind of God.
